Observations for Giants camp on Saturday.
Never Give Up
Reminder to never give up on a play: CB Dru Phillips tipped Russell Wilson’s deep pass away from WR Wan’Dale Robinson. The ball hung in the air and dropped right into the arms of Robinson, who was laying flat on his back. Robinson popped to his feet and ran the catch into the end zone, as play-caller Mike Kafka ran downfield to celebrate.
Tough Break
CB Tre Hawkins couldn’t buy a break. He had tight coverage in a 1-on-1 drill against Lil’Jordan Humphrey, who climbed his back for a catch. It left Hawkins in disbelief. He was on Jordan Bly in a red-zone drill, but Bly made what was ruled a sliding touchdown catch even though it appeared the ball skipped into Bly’s arms as Hawkins waved for an incompletion.

Caught My Eye
All four quarterbacks were given a chance to hit the crossbar from 10 yards out at the end of practice. If one hit, no walkthrough period. If two hit, meetings were canceled and early dismissal. Jameis Winston delivered, and teammates were hooting and hollering. Russell Wilson missed before Winston, and Tommy DeVito and Jaxson Dart missed, too.
Injury Report
RB Cam Skattebo (leg) had a “setback” in Friday’s practice — his first back after two on the shelf — and was out again Saturday. It sounds like he will miss multiple practices. TE Thomas Fidone, WR Darius Slayton, WR Beaux Collins, LB Chauncey Golston and CB Cor’Dale Flott did not practice.
