Outside Lands, one of the biggest music festivals in San Francisco, opens today in Golden Gate Park.
In 2025, Outside Lands will celebrate 17 years of incredible music, top-notch food and drinks, stunning art, and unforgettable experiences.
Doja Cat, Hozier and Tyler, The Creator are the headliners for the 2025 Outside Lands festival at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. Other popular performers include John Summit, Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals, Vampire Weekend, Gracie Abrams, Doechii, Glass Animals, Jamie xx, Gesaffelstein, Bleachers, Ludacris, Jorja Smith, and Still Woozy—also known as East Bay native Sven Eric Gamsky.
Here is what you need to know about how to get there and enjoy the festival:
When: Aug. 8-10. Gates open 11 a.m. Music: Noon to 10 p.m.
Where: Golden Gate Park
Entrance guide: You can enter the festival through the main gate, at JFK near 30th Ave, or the south gate, at Middle Drive and Metson Road.
An ADA entrance is available at 36th Avenue and JFK. GA+ pass holders can access expedited entry at 30th Avenue and JFK Drive or enter through the South VIP entrance at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near the South Gate.
VIP and Golden Gate Club members have their own entrance at 36th Avenue and JFK Drive, featuring a separate lane for Golden Gate Club members. Those arriving by shuttle can use the VIP entrance located at Martin Luther King Jr Drive near the South Gate.
Transportation: Organizers “strongly suggest” not driving to the events because parking nearby is very limited, reserved for residents, and strictly enforced. Outside Lands’ official site states there is no general event parking, and parking in nearby neighborhoods could lead to tickets or towing.
Event shuttles: The event provides prepaid, roundtrip shuttle passes for all three days or single days from two sites: Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, downtown; the Cow Palace in Daly City, where you can park free.

BART: On Friday, Saturday and Sunday, BART trains will run toward Millbrae until about 1 a.m. and toward the East Bay until about 12:30 a.m. Use the BART Trip Planner to schedule your trip.
Parking is free at BART stations after 3 p.m. on Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday, except at Milpitas and Berryessa/North San Jose stations, which BART does not operate.
To avoid delays, it’s best to get a Clipper card ahead of time with a round-trip fare loaded. You can add Clipper to your phone’s mobile wallet and pay fares using Google Pay or Apple Pay, with instant reload options available.
To get to the South Gate of Golden Gate Park at Middle Drive and Metson Road from BART, take BART to Civic Center Station and transfer to the Muni N-Judah light rail. The N-Judah will bring you near the park, where you can either walk or catch a bus like the 7 Haight/Noriega to reach the South Gate entrance.
To get to the main gate of Golden Gate Park (JFK near 30th Ave) from BART, take BART to Civic Center Station and transfer to Muni bus lines 5, 5R, or 5X. These buses will bring you to Fulton and 30th, near the main entrance. You can also use the 5X Fulton Express, a special Outside Lands service that runs between the park and Civic Center BART.

Bag policy:
• Small bags or purses up to 6x8x3 inches are allowed.
• Any bigger bag must be made of clear plastic.
• Hydration packs must have a bladder under 2½ liters (150 ounces) and only one extra pocket. Standard backpacks with hydration bladders will not be permitted.
