The San Francisco 49ers face the Denver Broncos in their first preseason game of the 2025 season on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. PT at Levi’s Stadium.
The Niners held a joint practice with the Broncos on Thursday ahead of the preseason opener.
San Francisco’s starters, including the newly extended Brock Purdy are likely to sit out most if not all of the game. It could be a chance for the Niners to get their first look at their remade defense, including young linemen Alfred Collins and C.J. West. First-round defensive end Mykel Williams injured his knee in Thursday’s practice and is expected to miss Saturday’s game. Backup quarterback Mac Jones should see signficant action after signing this offseason, as will new third-stringer Carter Bradley.
With the regular-season opener just under a month away in Seattle, the 49ers will face the Raiders in Las Vegas and the Chargers at home over the next two weeks to complete their preseason schedule.
