Chaos hits NYC morning rush hour as PATH lines suspended over fire investigation

A fire under a PATH train in Jersey City sparked yet more commuter chaos early Monday with multiple lines suspended.

Multiple fire trucks could be seen outside Newport Station after a blaze under an eastbound train around 6:15 a.m. — with passengers evacuated when the train filled with smoke, CBS News reported.

Trains from Journal Square and Hoboken to 33rd, as well as trains from Hoboken to World Trade Center, were all suspended.

The blaze created yet more chaos, after repeated issues for those getting between New Jersey and the Big Apple in recent weeks.
